We hope your summer is off to a great start. According to Nielsen//NetRatings, internet activity's picking up as it usually does during the summer months, especially among kids and teens. Look for up to 10% higher visitor activity than in the spring.

W3Counter is making it easier to track that activity and learn more about your visitors all the time. Here are some of the more notable additions to your web stats this month. As always, keep an eye on the official blog for more updates.

Time Zones Report

You'll find a new Time Zones tab on your Locations report. This new view breaks down your visitor activity by time zone, along with a new overlay of the percentages on a world map.

Combined with the hourly breakdown of visitor activity (choose Today or Yesterday from the Visitor Overview report), and Google Maps, you've got all the information you need to understand and tailor your website to the locations and times your visitors are most active.

New Web Stats API

The latest version of the W3Counter Web Stats API is now available for use. The new API provides over 50 reporting functions with simple URL access and XML responses. The Pro API now provides all the information contained in the new reports introduced in W3Counter v4.

To retrieve your API key and read the usage documentation, sign in to your account, click My Account at the top of the page, and click API in the navigation menu.

The previous v3 API will remain available for several weeks so that you can transition code to the new API.
